INTRODUCTION

Phellodendron Bark (Cortex Phellodendri) is one of the fifty fundamental herbs of traditional Chinese medicine. Known also as Cortex Phellodendri, it is the bark of one of two species of Phellodendron tree: Phellodendron amurense or Phellodendron chinense.

Phellodendron amurense also called as Amur cork tree is originated in North of China, and Phellodendron chinense produce in South of China, mainly in Sichuan Province.

Berberine HCL (Berberine Hydrocloride CAS NO. 141433-60-5, Molecular: C20H18ClNO4) is a quaternary ammonium salt from the protoberberine group of benzylisoquinoline alkaloids.

Berberine HCL (Berberine Hydrocloride CAS NO. 141433-60-5, Molecular: C20H18ClNO4) is a yellow crystal powder, no odour, extremely bitter, it can be soluble in hot water, and slightly soluble in water or ethanol. According to the solvent used in production, it can be reacted into Berberine hydrochloride and Berberine sulfate

Berberine HCL (Berberine Hydrocloride CAS NO. 141433-60-5, Molecular: C20H18ClNO4) has antibacterial action on Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria, such as E. coli, pneumococcal, staphylococcus aureus, streptococcus, and salmonella typhi. Especially a strong antibacterial action on shigella dysenteriae, it also has some inhibitory effects on influenza virus, amoeba, leptospira and certain dermatophytes.

Berberine Sulfate (Berberine Sulphate, CAS NO. 6190-33-6, Molecular Formula:C40H42N2O15S) is usually used in veterinary product, it has good water solubility.
